Abstract

This study aims to find out the extent to which Duolingo helps in improving the English vocabulary of Arrahman Senior High School students. The study involved 10 students in grades 12–4 and used the qualitative method with data collection through Google Form. The researcher wanted to observe and understand students' opinions about using Duolingo as an alternative to gamification-based vocabulary learning independently. The results showed that the Duolingo app helps students expand their English vocabulary. The gamification approach offered makes the learning process more interesting and accessible. Thus, Duolingo proved to be an effective tool in improving students' vocabulary skills at Arrahman Senior High School.
