This study aims to find out how to manage personal protective equipment (PPE) in the fertilizer industry, with indicators including identification of PPE needs and requirements, training, use, maintenance, storage of PPE, management in disposal or destruction, and PPE coaching. The results of this study show that the fertilizer industry has managed PPE very well in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations. This is proven through observations and interviews conducted by researchers with several informants. PPE needs and requirements have been well identified and support adequate standards. Before use, the PPE is double-checked to ensure that the PPE used is in accordance with what has been coordinated with the operator. Based on the interviews, the informants admitted that there were no obstacles in the identification and selection process of PPE. The same is true for training, use, maintenance, and storage of PPE that has been managed regularly and routinely. However, in use and maintenance, more emphasis is placed on employees through periodic inspections. Management in disposal and destruction is carried out in stages and follows procedures and regulations for the destruction of PPE that can no longer be used. PPE coaching is carried out in accordance with the established guidelines, including ensuring proper use by workers. Thus, this study concludes that the fertilizer industry has succeeded in managing PPE well in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
