PENGARUH KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN EKONOMI DI SMA KAPIN JAKARTA

Abstract


The aim of this research is to explore the impact of emotional intelligence on students' academic achievement in economics at SMA Kapin Jakarta. A quantitative method using simple random sampling was employed, involving 52 students from grades X and XI. Data were obtained through a questionnaire assessing emotional intelligence and report card scores in economics. The results of the simple linear regression analysis indicated a significant positive influence of emotional intelligence on academic achievement, with an R² of 0.232 and a p-value less than 0.05. The dimension of self-awareness was recorded to have the highest achievement level at 80.77%, while self-regulation exhibited the lowest achievement at 52.31%. The findings of the research indicate a positive relationship between the enhancement of emotional intelligence and improved academic performance in economics. This discovery underscores the importance of strengthening emotional intelligence within the educational curriculum as a means to promote better academic achievements. The study has significant implications for the development of learning strategies that integrate emotional intelligence components at the high school level
